How To Watch Big 12 Biggest Women’s Basketball Games For Week 16

The Big 12 women’s basketball season hits Week 16 with a full slate of games as all 14 teams are in action as the season enters its next-to-last week.

There are games on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. There are just four rounds of games left in the regular season. There are no more mid-week byes and the race for the regular-season title features four teams within one game of first place.

Here’s the complete schedule, how to watch each game, and, if you’re so inclined, the three must-watch games of the week (we’re cheating a bit again this week with four games).

West Virginia at Kansas State

How to Watch: 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Big 12 Now on ESPN+

Plenty of drama here. West Virginia just took care of Oklahoma at home on Saturday, a win that changed the Big 12 race and brought the Mountaineers (along with Kansas State and Texas) within a game of front-running Oklahoma.

So the stakes are significant here. The Mountaineers win and they can still entertain thoughts of a Big 12 title. The same goes for the Wildcats. The loser is two games back with three to play (assuming Oklahoma beats Cincinnati on Tuesday).

Oh, and it’s not entirely certain if Kansas State center Ayoka Lee will play as her other ankle is now injured.

Kansas at Baylor

How To Watch: 7 p.m., Wednesday, Big 12 Now on ESPN+

Kansas has been surging of late. The early conference struggles that seemed to turn them toward another WNIT postseason berth have faded. Kansas is by no means a lock. But with a five-game winning streak, the Jayhawks have played their way back on the NCAA Tournament bubble, a bubble that was unkind to them at the end of last season.

Beating Baylor on the road would be a big get for the Jayhawks. The Bears are comfortably in, even if they’ve fallen off from their hot start to conference play. This is a true Quad 1 chance for Kansas. This is also Baylor’s chance to, perhaps, burst Kansas’ bubble.

There is also the little matter of that 21-point loss to Kansas last month up in Lawrence that Baylor would like to atone for.

Oklahoma State at Oklahoma

How to Watch: 1 p.m., Saturday, FOX

I talked to both Oklahoma’s Jennie Baranzcyk and Oklahoma State’s Jacie Hoyt at Big 12 Media Days in Kansas City in October and both would like to keep Bedlam going in some way after OU leaves for the SEC. But, as with anything in life, we’ll have to wait and see.

Instead, turn your attention to this game. Points will be scored. Emotions will be shared. Both coaches have given the rivalry a lot of energy the past two seasons, an energy I’m disappointed to see going away.
