Texas Tech G Chance McMillian Not Warming Up vs. UCF

Grant McCasland and the Texas Tech Red Raiders appear to be taking the court against Cincinnati without the help of junior guard Chance McMillian.

McMillian was seen in street clothes ahead of the Red Raiders’ matchup with UCF and was also absent for the team’s shoot-around period.

McMillian’s absence would be a huge break for UCF as the California native has been one of the focal points of Grant McCasland’s team in 2023-24. The junior guard is currently averaging 10.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game in his fourth season of college basketball.

Coming out of high school, McMillian was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and checked in as the 43rd-ranked point guard in his class. He was also listed as the 28th-ranked player in the state of California.

McMillian’s biggest game of the year came against No. 11 Oklahoma on January 27th, where he recorded 27 points and eight rebounds. Without McMillian, the Red Raiders will look for production from a cast of multiple other contributors including Darrion Williams, Lamar Washington, and Kerwin Walton.

Saturday’s matchup between Texas Tech and UCF tips off at 3:00 PM CT from the Addition Financial Arena on ESPN+.
